Judah :) May 27, 2011

Here are a couple of new pics of Judah.  Currently he is 2lbs. 8oz and is growing like a weed.  This week *D* and I had the pleasure of getting to give him a bath.  He is so tiny I was a little nervous about washing him up.  But he just loved it.  I absolutely cannot wait till he is home.  I am so in love!!!  It's crazy how time goes by so quickly when I'm with him.  I'm usually at the hospital several hours everyday.  Sometimes what feels like minutes are really hours that have gone by.  I can't put into words how thankful I am for him everyday.  It is crazy to look at him and think back on all that we went through and how doctors told us that we may never have children.  Crazy.  But my God is so good and faithful.  I see things so differently now.  I remember crying and asking the Lord to just hear my prayers and allow me to get pregnant.  At times I felt like He didn't hear me or was just saying no but all the while He had Judah in the works.  :)

Thursday May 19

May 17
It is ten o clock at night and we are on the way to the hospital to see my little Judah.  Today he is 2 weeks and 3 days old. Its amazing to see how much he has grown in just these few days.  Today I got to spend several hours with him doing kangaroo care this is when they tuck him into my shirt and do skin to skin contact.  This honestly is the highlight of my day.  He just gets all snuggled up with me and sleeps.

Well so far I go, I'm doing pretty good.  I've had a few moments that I've felt a little overwhelmed but then I look at him and I can be nothing but thankful for this little miracle that God promised us.

May 19
I am so thankful for all the kind words and prayers that we have received.  It is amazing to see the result of prayers.  Judah's doctors continually tell us that he is a fighter and that there are things that he is doing that he really should not be able to do yet.  For example we are here now and Judah is laying on his tummy and decided that he did not want to face us any more and he picked his head up and turned his head the other way and got cozy and fell back to sleep.  The nurse told us that she had to reposition him several times because he moved so much :D

Two Weeks Old Today

Today marks two weeks since I gave birth to my little Judah.  These past two weeks have gone by some what fast and I'm praying that they continue to fly by.  Today I sat with him for several hours.  He just laid there on my chest and slept.  At two weeks he is still breathing on his own and is off of his iv.  I am so thankful for all that God has done.  For his protection.  His grace and His mercy.

Each time that I look at his little face it's like all the bad, all the craziness and all the unexpected events seem to disappear.  There is something so peaceful about just watching him sleep.  I can't wait to bring him home.  I feel so blessed to be called his mommy.

2 weeks- back to birth weight 2lbs 5 oz and 15 inches in length.

One week and one day old

This was such a great moment.  Last night daddy got to hold Judah for the very first time.  Can I tell you that I think that my heart truly melted just watching these two.  : D
Well this week has really flown by.  I can believe that it's already been a week.  Well my little Judah is doing great.  He is off of the bubble cpap and is now on a nasal cannula. He is eating well too. Now he is up to 4 ml per feeding.  Yay!!  I am so thankful.  Words can't express how much God has done for us and for Judah.  The nurses and doctors tell us that he really shouldn't be able to breathe on his own.  We are grateful for all of the prayers that we've recieved.  Each day that passes is one day closer to the day that we bring home my baby.  I cannot wait.

Our little fighter

5.5.2011
I've been home now for two days and I miss my little one like crazy.  I pray that time will fly so he can come home to us.  My little man is such a fighter.  Currently he he breathing on his own and has been since he was born.  He is on a bubble CPAP machine that helps his lungs out so they won't tire out.  He was taken off of his blood pressure medication the day before yesterday and has also started to take milk. :)  He is doing so well. His nurses and doctors say that they are amazed at how well he is doing.

Monday May 2. 2011

At 8:09 on Monday May 2, 2011 I became a mommy.  I gave birth to a beautiful baby boy.  It took all of two pushes to bring my son into this world.  He was born 13 weeks early to the day.  When he was born he was put on my belly and I could not take my eyes off of him.  He was so small.  He only stayed a second or two then was passed on to the NICU team that was waiting by my bedside for him.  God knew that I needed to know he was okay and that is when amidst of all the noise I heard the tiniest cry from my Judah.  It was the sweetest most  heartbreaking thing that I have ever heard.  I could do nothing to help him stop crying.  But the crying was such a  good sign.  The doctors got him stable in my room then whisked him off to the NICU with daddy by his side.

Sunday May 1, 2011

Sunday morning started off like the other several days that I've been here in the hospital.  Family came in and out all day and for some reason I did not feel good for some reason.  Nothing in particular but I just didn't feel myself.  As the day progressed I started to feel some like cramping, I let the nurse know but according to the nurse it was not contractions and that the pain was normal for a baby with little fluid left.

Day became night and the pain continued into the night.  Again I let the nurse know and she gave me a pain reliever and told me if the pain did not go away within an hour or two to let her know.  I was still in pain so she paged the doctor and my doctor asked her to check to see if I was dilating.  When she checked I was indeed at 1.5 cent.  She let me know that this ahppend all the time and that with medication they cou;d potentially stop my labor and keep me pregnant for a while longer.  For some reason the machine was not picking up my contractions, which by early morning were coming every few minutes.  It was not until Judah's heart rate dropped that they came running in and paged the doctor.   At some point in all the chaos the anathesilolgist came in and asked if I would be getting and epidural.  Umm so I thought that I would go natural but NO I was in so much pain.  I got the epidural and everything went pretty fast from there.  At 8:09 am on Monday morning I gave birth to the most precious little man you can imagine.
